this surely is one of the lamest way to do inking :/ gives the drawing no life at all. i mean it works on some stuff but inking a full drawing. id suggest going back to the brush.

Yes its time …
Yes its time consuming but no matter how clean are your inks or how good is your scanner that you wont get a inking so clean.
Also you have all the advantages of digital mediums… you can undo the mistakes, play with history palette, use a very high res canvas…

the problem of this technique is its VERY TIME CONSUMING. you will spend a lot of time making this inking this way in photoshop ( much more than the traditional way), with no quality diference.

The pen tool isn’t …
The pen tool isn’t as bad a s it seems. There are some very good 3-4 min tuts on here that explains it all. I can use it really well now and it’s all down to just watching the tuts.
I gave up on the pen tool then discovered those tutorials, i haven’t looked back since and has made illustrator and photoshop 10x better.

yeah the pen tool …
yeah the pen tool is painfull. however it creats neat strait lines. It is great for work on logo’s and other design features you cant aford a wiggly line on.
