Soften and Smooth Skin! This is a huge thing when working with studio photography, models, or anyone really. Smoothing skin can really add a lot to an image, but if you do it the wrong way it really can look terrible. We will also look at selective sharpening by using a mask to limit the sharpened region.

@ozymandias2010: If you pay attention, he is not using surface blur. He’s using smart blur. He could have played with the threshold, but it would have just reduced the width of the blur, and with such a small width, it’s essentially the same as reducing the amount.
@DrexelGal: Look at the tool bar. You can see the icon he has selected there. I had no problem hearing him say the spot healing brush, and he says it more than once. Maybe turn your speakers up..? He is speaking very clearly.
