      The magic wand tool …
      The magic wand tool only collects the color that is directly connected to the area you click if you set it that way. Uncheck “Contigous” at the top and Magic Wand will select that color from across the whole image in just one click. It’s still not as good as the other methods shown in this example, but I thought I’d bring it up for future reference.

      I personally just paint over the colour contaminated hair with a soft paintbrush of the same hair colour on the “colour” opacity option. Although I’m using GIMP 2. You can obviously do this aswell. (I spelled colour right. I’m Canadian.)

      To be honest I see no point in the color range selection method. I use it myself but if you think about it, its useless.. you can just uncheck “contiguous” when using the magic wand tool…
