If I’m not mistaken … If I’m not mistaken the “gaps” in the histogram also represent the lost or deleted information from the process you used to achieve your version of the image?? other then that Nicely shown, very informative. (not the way I would have done it, but I’m obsessive compulsive & don’t want to loose any image detail. still I learned some new tricks, & look forward to seeing future tutorials.
id watch this, but … id watch this, but there are shorter videos that dont take 20 ing minutes, get to the point, show us how dont ing explain everylittlething
Hi Its now 4am here … Hi Its now 4am here in N . Ireland’ and I just wanted to say that I have been spell bound by your tutorial and how very interesting the perception and interpretation of how you showed the work
Thanx mate!
For the … Thanx mate!
For the second picture: I tend to think that the other guy seperated the water from the pier as well, your water is too contrasted, he doesnt have so many pure blacks. Thus i guess he didnt use a dodge effect. But I just learned how to apply a dodge effect on a new layer! and the shift+click with a brush! And the ctrl+M to move the selection! I used it only for shapes) hahaha Ps is so amazing.
CORRECTION: The … CORRECTION: The comb-like lines in the histogram (aka spikes) are not becos of low-res file or caused by the “abrupt transition” on the building as you point out @ 7:35.
They occur when adjustments (esp in Levels/Curves) are really pushed and you start to clip/lose information. Hence the histogram is fine before you did the Levels. Basically its a bad thing and thats why proper exposure is even more critical on digital cameras.
I like your tutorials but some of what you say is untrue.
Excellent tutorial. … Excellent tutorial. I can’t thank you enough – it is people like you who are really enhancing what teaching on the internet is all about. You went at a pace that would allow even a relative beginner to follow. I am reasonably experienced with CS3 and I still liked how you explained what you did. DO NOT LISTEN to the people complaining about how much you spoke – I would MUCH MUCH rather have too much explaination than too little.
